Procedure

Registration of an import retail business which includes food import >>Getting educational qualifications after taking online education at Korea Health Supplements Association(http://www.khsa.or.kr) and applying for an import retail business registration.

Review products’ size, standards and its customs permit >> Review for an suitable type and an standard size for Korean Food Standards Codex by checking component proportions, manufacturing process, export country quarantine certificate(or sterilization certificate) and the export label.

Preliminary inspection about standards and specifications of food products >> We make a test for food products in advance whether those products are appropriate for internal standards and specifications.
* Preliminary inspection: It can prevent the case from failing to pass the test in advance if we make the same precision test for products before importing.

Making suitable labels for products>> Making Korean labels for each type according to the food labeling regulations from the Food Sanitation Act.

Importing into the country and warehousing of goods at bonded warehouse.

KFDS declaration and making the process of applying for quarantine by Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency and National Fishery Products Quality Management Service >> Preliminary inspection, review documents + plant quarantine/Animal and plant quarantine/fishery quarantine
* Precision test: It is the test for products that are imported for the first time at Korea and products will be taken a test for its standards and specifications under the functional food for health act.
(It is the same preliminary precision test that No.3 clause refers)
* examination documents: Ascertain the appropriateness of its possibility to pass the test with the same products that were imported in the nation before.
